Your development

At ING Direct we’re really proud of the development opportunities we give to all our employees. From the Orange Onboarding event you’ll attend as soon as you join us to discussing a Development Action Plan with your Manager, you’ll receive all the support you need to enable you to shine in your role. We run some great in-house courses, have lots of interesting e-learn modules and encourage you to study for professional qualifications where possible.

Our recruitment process

Customer Services

Working in our Customer Services team means that you play a crucial role in ensuring that we deliver a great customer experience. For this reason we will want to assess your communication and customer service skills. Our initial screening process includes a set of online ability tests to measure your suitability. Then you’ll be given the opportunity to have a chat with one of the Customer Service Team before being invited in for an ING Direct Recruitment Event. If you’re successful we’ll agree a start date with you and you’ll join an induction programme to make sure you get all the training you need to shine in your new role.

Specialist Hires

Depending on the role you might be asked to deliver a presentation or prepare a case study. We may want to assess your technical skills. In all cases you will meet with the Hiring Manager for the role (your potential new boss!) for an interview. If you get through to final stage you’ll meet with a Senior Manager from the department and a member of the Recruitment team for a competency based interview.

The best way to apply is through our online vacancy site. That way you’ll be sure that your details are sent straight to the relevant Recruiter.

I can’t find a role which matches my search criteria

Our list of current vacancies is updated regularly. If there is nothing suitable for you right now there may well be soon. You can choose to register your details for future vacancies or just keep popping back to see what’s new.

What happens when I’ve submitted my CV?

All CVs are sent directly to the relevant Recruiter. They will review your details in line with the requirements of the role and be in touch to advise on next steps. This should usually happen within 2 weeks of your application

How do I know whether my CV has been submitted correctly?

You will receive an automated email from our careers site acknowledging receipt of your details.

Do you recruit graduates?

We do not currently operate a formal graduate programme but do welcome applications from graduates who match the criteria for the roles we have available.

We operate a PSL across our business and only work with a select number of recruitment partners. We are also focused on direct sourcing wherever possible and are reducing our agency usage considerably.
