Barclays welcomes customers of ING Direct UK

On 20 February 2013, the High Court of England & Wales approved the transfer of the savings and mortgage business of ING Direct UK to Barclays Bank PLC.

The transfer has now taken place and we wrote to you in March to welcome you to Barclays and give you further information about your account(s).

The transfer does not affect the way your savings and/or mortgage account(s) work, or the quality of service you receive.

You can still access your account online at www.ingdirect.co.uk (using your existing login details) and you can still call us on the usual telephone number below.

The Terms and Conditions that apply to your account(s) have not changed and you can obtain a copy of your Terms and Conditions by visiting www.ingdirect.co.uk or by calling us.

In time Barclays will move all accounts to equivalent Barclays products. We expect this to be within two years of the transfer date. When this happens Barclays will notify you in advance and highlight any changes there may be to the way your account works.

ING Direct UK previously told you about the ways they would use your personal information. Barclays will continue to use your information in the same way now the transfer has completed. We will let you know if there are any changes to the way your personal information will be used in the future.

Mortgage customers
If you have an ING Direct UK mortgage, your rate will remain the same as it is now until the end of any fixed term period and if you are on a variable rate it will only change in line with changes in the Bank of England Base Rate. You can still switch to a different mortgage product, move your existing mortgage to a new property if you move home, and apply for extra advances (subject to lending policy at the time of your application and the terms and conditions that apply to your account).

Savings customers
If you are an existing savings customer, you can continue to operate your account in the same way as you have done previously, subject to the Terms and Conditions that apply to the account. The account names are unchanged and therefore at times we may still refer to ING Direct accounts.
